A release for early 2007 has been planned for "The Roaring Of Dreams", the third album of PRIDE OF LIONS. According to Jim Peterik, “It is a return to the more commercial and hooky sounds of the first album and actually takes much of its inspiration from the Vital Signs album by SURVIVOR. Keep in mind though that it is pure
PRIDE OF LIONS and adds the drama of Toby’s voice and the counterpoint
vocals of yours truly”.
“The songs are mostly shorter form and more to the point”, continues
Peterik, “there are still some grand messages though: the title track is
about the massive sound that we hear in our head when a dream is taking
shape - even when you are working a 9 to 5 shift or even if you are an
unhappy house wife- you still can hear the dream in your head. There is a
song about the "The Book of Life" we are all writing- "are you just a
footnote- or will you rise to fill it's pages- you were born to rock the
ages- just take your pen and write the book of life"- you can shape your own
destiny if you really try. Toby has a field day with the Hagaresque rocker "
Heaven on Earth", inspired on the night my wife's brother Andy passed away-
"I'm not gonna wait till I’m six feet under - we can find heaven on earth".
There's a classic pop song called "Language of the Heart" that really rocks,
there something for everyone and I am sure this will please all”.
Once again the band’s line-up in the recording features Ed Breckenfeld on
drums, Klem Hayes on bass, Mike Aquino on guitar and Christian Cullen on
keyboards apart from Jim Peterik (keyboards, guitar and vocals) and Toby
Hitchcock on lead vocals.

Melodicrock.Com reports that Negotiations are currently underway to re-unite VAN HALEN with their original frontman DAVID LEE ROTH for a tour in 2007 that will take in Amercia and possibly other territories. There hasn't been an official press release, but according to Andrew McNeice of mr.com, his source is reliable. In addition, there has been reports that European promoters have been approached in order to set up dates for Van Halen with DLR. It is not clear whether Michael Anthony will be a part of the band. In light of recent comments from Eddie Van Halen, it seems unlikely.
ANDY TAYLOR is again out of 80's legend DURAN DURAN. The other four members state that there was a gulf way too big between them and Taylor.

The band has played more gigs in Finland recently than most of our domestic bands!
HEAVEN AND HELL is most likely going to be the name of a "new" band featuring Tony Iommi, Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. This is of course the Black Sabbath line-up which released "Heaven And Hell" album. To thicken the plot, here's a statement from Ozzy Osbourne..."Tony Iommi and Ronnie Dio are working on a project together which has nothing to do with BLACK SABBATH. There is only one BLACK SABBATH. Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill will be touring late next year along with a new BLACK SABBATH album. However, Ozzy wishes Tony and Ronnie much success in their project together." Okay...

Baltimoore return less than a year after the release of “Kaleidoscope” with
their tenth album, simply entitled “X”. The new album finds Baltimoore in the
finest form of their career firing on all cylinders with their distinctive brand
of Scandie Hard Rock which incorporates a few new twists and turns along the
way.“X” is home to 10 tracks that travel from the metallic fury of “Make Tables

to the bluesy “2&2” and folk-rock tinted “Make It Through”. With “X”, the
band led by one of Rock music’s most distinctive vocalists Björn Lodin, prove

LIZZY BORDEN has signed with Coallier
Entertainment Ltd. (W.A.S.P., TWISTED SISTER). "We are all very excited to be with
Coallier Entertainment," the band said in a statement. "Touring in all territories
has been our goal for a long, long time and now with Coallier Entertainment booking
us, we can play in places that we never have before and bring the LIZZY BORDEN show
worldwide."
LIZZY BORDEN is working on a new record and is looking to recreate the LIZZY BORDEN
logo to fit with the new concept. The logo shape has not changed very much over the
years, but the inside of the logo has gone from red with blades ("Give 'em the Axe")
to a hypnotizing green ("Visual Lies") to the American flag with exposed bones ("The
Murderess Metal Roadshow") and then finally on a contract signed by the horned one
himself ("Deal with the Devil").
Commented Lizzy: "With every record we try and make the logo fit the concept. The
concept for the new record is very dark and ominous and we need the logo to reflect
that. We've seen some amazing artwork on MySpace and other places on the net and would
love to find that artist who understands LIZZY BORDEN and be the one to pen the logo
for the forthcoming LIZZY BORDEN record."

Another hot release is AOR's "L.A. Concession":
After having recorded a couple of solo albums and having produced some
French and American artists, Frédéric decided to start a "one man band".
This marked the birth of his project AOR, always using the cream of US
session players. In 2000, the first album "L.A CONCESSION" was released
and gave Frédéric big respect in the Westcoast / AOR music scene. The
second album "NEXT STOP L.A" was released one year later. It was in 2002
that Frédéric Slama released his third album "L.A. REFLECTION", which
was considered to be the best Westcoast CD of the year by many journalists
and fans. In 2003, Frédéric Slama returned with "DREAMING OF L.A" and in
2004, Frédéric released "NOTHING BUT THE BEST", a compilation album
featuring the best songs from his previous CD's with unreleased tracks.
AOR was back again in 2006 on MTM with a new cd called "L.A ATTRACTION
"featuring as always the cream of L.A session players such as STEVE
LUKATHER , PHILIP BARDOWELL, TOMMY DENANDER, MICHAEL LANDAU and many more.
The current album "L.A Concession" was actually released in 2000 as a
strictly limited "private pressing" on CD-R only. when this album appeared
on eBay, prices usually ranged around USD 150.00. Finally, this
extraordinary production finds its way into the record stores and mail
orders as an official release. The CD now includes 4 previously unreleased
bonus tracks, a new full colour booklet with lyrics which make this great
fully remastered album even more attractive for all AOR / Westcoast and
melodic rock fans!

Next up is DA VINCI's "Back In Business". In 1987, five young men from Oslo, Norway were signed by Polygram and
joined forces to record an album of finest Scandinavian AOR and Melodic
Rock: DA VINCI's self-titled debut. In the tradition of other
Scandinavian rock bands of the mid-80's such as Treat, Europe or Dalton,
DA VINCI delivered well-produced songs full of hooks, driven by guitars
and stunning keyboards. The success of the critically acclaimed debut
immediately resulted in a second effort, "Back In Business" from

Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) is pleased to announce the release of
the ZION album on December 8th 2006. This album marks the comeback of FREDDY CURCI, the vocalist of ALIAS and SHERIFF. Sheriff released their first (and only) album in the early eighties and were popular in their home country of Canada, yet the success in the USA had to wait. The band split up in 1985, but amazingly their song "When I'm With You" came back to life and went to the top of the US singles charts in 1989! ALIAS was a continuation of Sheriff, featuring Curci, Sheriff guitarist Steve DeMarchi, ex-HEART
members Steve Fossen, Mike Derosier and Roger Fisher. Their only album was released in 1990. It's considered an AOR classic, and it featured two Top 10 hits. After the demise of Alias, Curci recorded a solo album "Dreamer's Road" in 1994 and a compilation album was also released a few years later.
Freddy then started his new ZION project which almost took four years to
make it to completion “I got really sick for a long time and I couldn't sing
for over a year... But I'm glad to say things are much better now and I am
very excited to come back after such a long time! I could not even realize
so much time passed. I guess In my mind I never left.. It was the journey I
took that that brought me here now. To quote Paul McCartney, It was a long
and winding road....” “Zion is” continues Freddy, “one of those things that
if there's enough demand, I'll ask the guys if they want to go on the road
and tour this record! This would be a fun record to tour… it really rocks!”
Featured on ZION are professional musicians such as Jason Hook (ex BULLET
BOYS) and Joey Scoleri on guitars, Paul Marangoni (KIM MITCHELL, THE WORKS,
CONEY HATCH) and Joey Greco on drums, Ken Malandrino on bass and Ross Greene
on keyboards with the collaboration of Fabrizio Grossi on bass as well. He
gathered the best songs from his repertoire written with Steve DeMarchi
(Curci’s ALIAS and SHERIFF song-writing partner), Jeff Paris, Marc Ribler
and Bob Marlette, among others.
Final tracklisting: Only Takes A Minute; How Much Longer Is Forever; One Man Alone; Dangerous; I Am Running Home; Everybody's Watching; No Surprise; Sky Is Falling; Devil's Dance; Who Do You Think You Are; Crash The Mirror.

MEAT LOAF recently spoke to AOL Music about his third "Bat Out of Hell"
album, the upcoming "The Monster is Loose", on which he worked with a group of
collaborators, including MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx. "Desmond [Child, producer] has
collaborated his whole life," the singer says. "He had just finished working with Nikki Sixx on another
song for somebody else’s album. In Desmond’s mind, this was the perfect guy to go to."
The pair brought in guitarist John 5, who’s now in ROB ZOMBIE’s band, to round out
the song. "John 5 was playing guitars and it scared the hell out of me, because it
was, like, so heavy and so different," Meat Loaf recalls. It was a valuable lesson, he says:
"It was at that moment that I just went, ‘Okay, I am not going to be closed. I’m opening up, and
I’m going for everything and anything that I can be different about,’" he says. "And
that’s where we went."

The rumours of WASP mainman Blackie Lawless' death hadn't reached the RockUnited.Com newsdesk before today, when a major Finnish newspaper published an interview with Blackie, in which he proclaimed that he indeed is alive and well. WASP played three shows in Finland during the last weekend, all of which have gotten good reviews. A new album from the band is due to be released in November, specific dates being 10th in Germany, 13th in Europe and 21st in USA. The album is titled "Dominator", and apart from band originals, it'll feature the cover tracks "Burn" (Deep Purple) and "Fortunate Son" (Creedence Clearwater Revival).

Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) will
release the STYX & the Contemporary Youth Orchestra album “One With
Everything” on the European markets on November 10th 2006.
CYO has previously performed with such artists as Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Ray Manzarek, Graham Nash and Jon
Anderson, but their concert with Styx was their first with a full scaled rock band. As for Styx, this was their second show with an orchestra. Vocalist/guitarist Tommy Shaw comments that "while the first time with an orchestra was a
wonderful experience, we had not been inclined to revisit it until we heard
that the members of this particular orchestra were all between the ages of
thirteen and nineteen. From the very beginning, the enthusiasm has been extraordinary. Their
grasp of our music, their flexibility and willingness to go far beyond what
any of us imagined, has been incredible. Director Liza Grossman is to be
hailed as the heroine extraordinaire tonight, for her steady guidance and
the unflinching belief in the members of CYO”.
On May 25, 2006 STYX took the stage in Cleveland for a new venture
accompanied by the 115 piece Contemporary Youth Orchestra and a 60 member
chorus. With a setlist that combined the band’s classics, new songs and
cover versions, this was a truly unique event. The following tracks are to be featured on the album:
Blue Collar Man; One With Everything; Don't Make Sense (If You Can't Make
Peace); Everything, All The Time (NEW SONG); I Am The Walrus; Just Be
(Studio Version, NEW SONG); Fooling Yourself; Boat On The River; I Don't
Need No Doctor; Crystal Ball; Too Much Time On My Hands: A Criminal Mind;
Miss America; Renegade.

Angtoria's video for the song "God Has a Plan for Us All" is now available at the band's MySpace page.
ANGTORIA frontwoman Sarah Jezebel Deva (CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS)
had the following to say about the song and the accompanying video: "The
song covers two subjects but they are both linked. Written about a man who
preaches gods word yet finds it acceptable to sexually abuse children. Also
this song describes the pitiful chilché used by many religous people who
can´t offer any other explanation as to why people suffer in their life.
Rape, murder, poverty, whatever it may be, the only excuse that can be
offered is: 'God Has A Plan For Us All!'
"The video was filmed at two locations, a very impressive and beautiful
church (Njurunda Kyrka) and an abandoned deteriorated building, over a
three-day period and due to the lyrical theme of the song it was filmed as a
'short movie.' It contains footage of as well the band as Chris' [Rehn]
five-year-old daughter Saga who played the child, Toni Davey (wife of Dani
Filth in CRADLE OF FILTH and covergirl on the [ANGTORIA] album) who played
the child as a grown-up to a 35-piece church choir and a priest played by
Pierre Ragnehag!"

Pretty Maids will release their new album "Wake Up To The Real World" on Frontiers (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) on November 10th. After 10 studio albums, 2 Ep, 1 Best Of and 2 live albums, in 2002 the band celebrated their 20th anniversary with the release of the album “Planet
Panic” followed by a successful European tour. But at the end of the same
year they decided to take a long break from recording and touring. Now in
2006 the band is finally ready to release their long awaited “come back
album” entitled “Wake Up To The Real World”.
In singer Ronnie Atkins’ words: “The new record has all the trademarks a
good PRETTY MAIDS album should have and that’s the overall combination of
good melodies and strong guitar riffs. But the keyword as far as I’m
concerned is it’s gotta be melodic: whether it’s the heavier and faster
tracks or the more ballad/AOR oriented kind of stuff, in other words “good
songs“ and I think the album has got that!”
The album is the first one to feature new drummer Allan Tsichaja (ex-ROYAL HUNT). Here's is the tracklisting:
Wake Up To The Real World; All In The Name of Love; I Am The End; As Guilty As You; Why Die For A Lie; Such A Rush; Where True Beauty Lies; Brave Young New Breed; Terminal Violence; Perfect Strangers; Another Shot Of You Love.
