[31 October 2006] Frontiers Records have signed DOKKEN! The band is working on a new album, which will be
"a classic DOKKEN style release, something that all the fans have been asking for", says Don Dokken. The band, currently featuring Don Dokken on vocals, Jon Levin on guitar, Barry Sparks on bass, and Mick Brown on drums, is hoping to have the album ready in January, so that they can start planning on a full European tour.

A release for early 2007 has been planned for "The Roaring Of Dreams", the third album of PRIDE OF LIONS. According to Jim Peterik, “It is a return to the more commercial and hooky sounds of the first album and actually takes much of its inspiration from the Vital Signs album by SURVIVOR. Keep in mind though that it is pure
PRIDE OF LIONS and adds the drama of Toby’s voice and the counterpoint
vocals of yours truly”.
“The songs are mostly shorter form and more to the point”, continues
Peterik, “there are still some grand messages though: the title track is
about the massive sound that we hear in our head when a dream is taking
shape - even when you are working a 9 to 5 shift or even if you are an
unhappy house wife- you still can hear the dream in your head. There is a
song about the "The Book of Life" we are all writing- "are you just a
footnote- or will you rise to fill it's pages- you were born to rock the
ages- just take your pen and write the book of life"- you can shape your own
destiny if you really try. Toby has a field day with the Hagaresque rocker "
Heaven on Earth", inspired on the night my wife's brother Andy passed away-
"I'm not gonna wait till I’m six feet under - we can find heaven on earth".
There's a classic pop song called "Language of the Heart" that really rocks,
there something for everyone and I am sure this will please all”.
Once again the band’s line-up in the recording features Ed Breckenfeld on
drums, Klem Hayes on bass, Mike Aquino on guitar and Christian Cullen on
keyboards apart from Jim Peterik (keyboards, guitar and vocals) and Toby
Hitchcock on lead vocals.

[28 October 2006] SWEDENROCK have published more details of their "kick-off" party to be held on 2 December in Stockholm. David Coverdale and Doug Aldrich of Whitesnake will make a special appearance, and The Sweden Rock All Star Band will perform. The band will feature such luminaries as Udo Dirkschneider, Ryan Roxie, Ian Haughland, Oscar Dronjak and more. Check out the SR website...
"CHRISTMAS IS HEAVY" in Finland! Yngwie Malmsteen will headline two concerts (13 Dec. in Helsinki and 15 Dec. in Jyväskylä) under the "Christmas Is Heavy" title. Both concerts will also feature U.D.O., Vixen and Kilpi. In addition to these gigs, Malmsteen will also play in Oulu with Vixen and Kilpi on 15 Dec., and in Tampere on 14 Dec. with Brother Firetribe and MoonMadness.
Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) will be kicking off 2007 with the great vocalist JORN LANDE. On 27 January the label will release two albums from the former Masterplan vocalist, "Unlocking The Past" and "The

[27 October 2006] Melodicrock.Com reports that Negotiations are currently underway to re-unite VAN HALEN with their original frontman DAVID LEE ROTH for a tour in 2007 that will take in Amercia and possibly other territories. There hasn't been an official press release, but according to Andrew McNeice of mr.com, his source is reliable. In addition, there has been reports that European promoters have been approached in order to set up dates for Van Halen with DLR. It is not clear whether Michael Anthony will be a part of the band. In light of recent comments from Eddie Van Halen, it seems unlikely.
ANDY TAYLOR is again out of 80's legend DURAN DURAN. The other four members state that there was a gulf way too big between them and Taylor.

SANDY WEST, the drummer of the legendary 70's all-girl rock band The Runaways has passed away. The Runaways paved the way to practically all the female-fronted rock/metal acts of the following years. Two of its' members have become highly successful solo artists, namely Joan Jett and Lita Ford.
L.A. rockers MADISON PAIGE will be recording their acoustic show tomorrow (Thursday, 26 October) for a possible live album. The show will take place at The Mint, 6010 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, with Arista recording artists Freeman supporting.

FRANCIS SOTO, former vocalist of SUBWAY and WICKED SENSATION has sent out info on his new project
"METALAPOLIS - part 1". He is joined by MARKUS METZGER (keyboards and programming),
LOTHAR KNÖRLE (guitars and bass) and TOBIAS BENJAMIN FRANK (guitars), who are

[17 October 2006] WINGER are playing in Germany after all! It's been confirmed that on 21 October (that's next Saturday!), Winger are set to perform a one-off gig in Munich. The venue is Metropolis Club, doors will open at 7.30pm CET, and the showtime is at 8.30pm. There is no support act, and tickets (€ 18) can only be purchased at the door.

[14 October 2006] LOST WEEKEND's appearance on Friday 3rd November at Halifax's Bar 15
club will now officially be the band's launch party for their fourth
studio release, FOREVER MOVING ON. The show will be an exclusive
show, that will see the band playing material from their new release
plus their classic material from their previous three albums. The
band hope to see many friendly faces along with many new ones to
help launch the album in true LOST WEEKEND style. Tickets are £2 per person, doors will open at 7.30pm,
support band FLAME TREE will take the stage at 8.30pm and Lost Weekend at 9.45pm.
Due to the venue closing, the band's appearance at The Golden Lion
in Halifax on Saturday 4th November has now been cancelled. Lost
Weekend are working on new dates and hope to make an announcement in
the near future. The band would also like to THANK all their fans and friends who
came along to the ZRock show in Dudley. This was an extremely
successful show for the lads and one that everyone enjoyed.
Finnish gothic rockers THE 69 EYES will be supporting Cradle Of Filth on their US Tour, starting in January 2007. The 69 Eyes are currently working on their new album "Angels", to be released in January 2007 as well.
[12 October 2006] TARJA TURUNEN, the former vocalist of Nightwish has announced that she will be doing a small tour to promote her christmas album "Henkäys Ikuisuudesta". There will be seven dates in Finland and two in Russia. The first single from the album is to be released on 25 October, and it's entitled "You Would Have Loved This" and it was written by Cori Connors. The single will feature exclusive versions of the title track and "Walking In The Air". The album will be released on 11 November.

Richie Kotzen is one of the most talented guitar players and singer of the

ROYAL HUNT will release their new "2006 Live" 2CD and DVDs on December 8 on Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo).
ROYAL HUNT is a one of the biggest Melodic Metal bands in the world, with sales of more than one million CDs alltogether. The band's leading force has always been keyboardist/songwriter Andre Andersen, and highly respected vocalist John West has been in the band since the late nineties. In 2004 the band went through a major transition, when guitarist Jacob Kjaer and bass player Steen Mogensen both terminated their tenure with the band. Newly installed would be guitarist Marcus Jidell, a scene veteran of JEKYLL & HYDE and THE RING and former drummer Kenneth Olsen. The bass
position was filled in July the year after by HOUSE OF SHAKIRA and SPIKE man
Per Schelander.
The band picked the historic stage of St. Petersburg’s Music
Hall to film their new live in concert DVD on. A beautiful old theatre and
some 1000+ enthusiastic fans created a great atmosphere for this event,
which lasted about 2 hours (the band played a wide selection of songs from
all of their releases since 1991 and some tracks from the latest one “Paper

their tenth album, simply entitled “X”. The new album finds Baltimoore in the

LIZZY BORDEN has signed with Coallier
Entertainment Ltd. (W.A.S.P., TWISTED SISTER). "We are all very excited to be with
Coallier Entertainment," the band said in a statement. "Touring in all territories
has been our goal for a long, long time and now with Coallier Entertainment booking
us, we can play in places that we never have before and bring the LIZZY BORDEN show
worldwide."
LIZZY BORDEN is working on a new record and is looking to recreate the LIZZY BORDEN
logo to fit with the new concept. The logo shape has not changed very much over the
years, but the inside of the logo has gone from red with blades ("Give 'em the Axe")
to a hypnotizing green ("Visual Lies") to the American flag with exposed bones ("The
Murderess Metal Roadshow") and then finally on a contract signed by the horned one
himself ("Deal with the Devil").
Commented Lizzy: "With every record we try and make the logo fit the concept. The
concept for the new record is very dark and ominous and we need the logo to reflect
that.We've seen some amazing artwork on MySpace and other places on the net and would
love to find that artist who understands LIZZY BORDEN and be the one to pen the logo

[05 October 2006] Blackie Lawless and SPV are announcing that the release date for the new W.A.S.P.
album "Dominator" will be postponed until early 2007.
W.A.S.P. is currently on a tour of Europe until December and will be putting the
final touches on the album upon arriving home.

Foo Fighters have confirmed a November 9th release date for Skin And
Bones, a live document of the band's first ever tour with its expanded
eight-piece lineup culled from three sold out performances at Los
Angeles' Pantages Theater. A live DVD has also been confirmed for
release later that month.
Skin And Bones features the Foo Fighters core of Dave Grohl, Taylor
Hawkins, Nate Mendel, and Chris Shiflett augmented by guest players
Petra Haden (violin), Rami Jaffee (keyboards), Drew Hester (percussion)
and former Foo Fighter Pat Smear (guitar) debuting live arrangements of
several songs from disc two of the platinum-plus In Your Honor, as well
as unique interpretations of favorites from the band's entire catalogue.

MTM Music have announced three new CD releases, all to be released in November 10th, 2006.
RAIN was founded in 1997 as a result of a project started by Lars Forseth
and Sonny Crow from the band Bankok Babes. They were soon joined by the
Bangkok Babes drummer Per-Helge Bruvoll, guitarist Tore Moren
from Jorn and Michael Bormann (Jaded Heart, Bonfire, J.R. Blackmore, Zeno,
etc.) The recordings for their second album took place in Michael
Bormann's studio in Duisburg, Germany in 2005. The album is now being
released by MTM MUSIC for the territory of Europe and in Japan by
JVC/Victor. "Stronger" is a pure AOR Hardrock album and Michael
Bormann continues with this great band where he stopped after the JADED
HEART "IV" album.

make it to completion “I got really sick for a long time and I couldn't sing
for over a year... But I'm glad to say things are much better now and I am
very excited to come back after such a long time! I could not even realize
so much time passed. I guess In my mind I never left.. It was the journey I
took that that brought me here now. To quote Paul McCartney, It was a long
and winding road....” “Zion is” continues Freddy, “one of those things that
if there's enough demand, I'll ask the guys if they want to go on the road
and tour this record! This would be a fun record to tour… it really rocks!”

MEAT LOAF recently spoke to AOL Music about his third "Bat Out of Hell"
album, the upcoming "The Monster is Loose", on which he worked with a group of
collaborators, including MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx. "Desmond [Child, producer] has
collaborated his whole life," the singer says. "He had just finished working with Nikki Sixx on another
song for somebody else’s album. In Desmond’s mind, this was the perfect guy to go to."
The pair brought in guitarist John 5, who’s now in ROB ZOMBIE’s band, to round out
the song. "John 5 was playing guitars and it scared the hell out of me, because it
was, like, so heavy and so different," Meat Loaf recalls. It was a valuable lesson, he says:

Finnish Horror metallers DOMINATION BLACK have commenced the mixing process
for their new album, "The Dark Legacy", for a tentative November release via
Poison Arrow Records. The follow-up to last year's "FEARBRINGER" was
recorded at the Manu Audio studios in Kouvola,Finland.

[26 September 2006] The rumours of WASP mainman Blackie Lawless' death hadn't reached the RockUnited.Com newsdesk before today, when a major Finnish newspaper published an interview with Blackie, in which he proclaimed that he indeed is alive and well. WASP played three shows in Finland during the last weekend, all of which have gotten good reviews. A new album from the band is due to be released in November, specific dates being 10th in Germany, 13th in Europe and 21st in USA. The album is titled "Dominator", and apart from band originals, it'll feature the cover tracks "Burn" (Deep Purple) and "Fortunate Son" (Creedence Clearwater Revival).
CYO has previously performed with such artists as Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Ray Manzarek, Graham Nash and Jon
Anderson, but their concert with Styx was their first with a full scaled rock band. As for Styx, this was their second show with an orchestra. Vocalist/guitarist Tommy Shaw comments that "while the first time with an orchestra was a
wonderful experience, we had not been inclined to revisit it until we heard
that the members of this particular orchestra were all between the ages of
thirteen and nineteen. From the very beginning, the enthusiasm has been extraordinary. Their
grasp of our music, their flexibility and willingness to go far beyond what
any of us imagined, has been incredible. Director Liza Grossman is to be
hailed as the heroine extraordinaire tonight, for her steady guidance and
the unflinching belief in the members of CYO”.
On May 25, 2006 STYX took the stage in Cleveland for a new venture
accompanied by the 115 piece Contemporary Youth Orchestra and a 60 member
chorus. With a setlist that combined the band’s classics, new songs and
cover versions, this was a truly unique event. The following tracks are to be featured on the album:

[21 September 2006] Neil's latest studio album "When Gravity Fails" was released on August 18th, featuring rock legends such as Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Peter Frampton, Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Steve Smith (Vital Information, Journey), T.M. Stevens (Miles Davis, James Brown, Billy Joel, Joe Cocker) and Ross Valory (Journey).
Francis Soto, the former vocalist of Subway and Wicked Sensation has opened a website. He also has a new CD available, "The Journey 1995 - 2005", a compilation of selected tracks.

ANGTORIA frontwoman Sarah Jezebel Deva (CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS)
had the following to say about the song and the accompanying video: "The
song covers two subjects but they are both linked. Written about a man who
preaches gods word yet finds it acceptable to sexually abuse children. Also
this song describes the pitiful chilché used by many religous people who
can´t offer any other explanation as to why people suffer in their life.
Rape, murder, poverty, whatever it may be, the only excuse that can be
offered is: 'God Has A Plan For Us All!'
"The video was filmed at two locations, a very impressive and beautiful
church (Njurunda Kyrka) and an abandoned deteriorated building, over a
three-day period and due to the lyrical theme of the song it was filmed as a
'short movie.' It contains footage of as well the band as Chris' [Rehn]
five-year-old daughter Saga who played the child, Toni Davey (wife of Dani
Filth in CRADLE OF FILTH and covergirl on the [ANGTORIA] album) who played
the child as a grown-up to a 35-piece church choir and a priest played by
Pierre Ragnehag!"
Talk about rocking the boat... Mötley Crüe vocalist Vince Neil will be hosting a Rock'n Roll Cruise in January.
The four day, three night rock and roll cruise sets sail on Friday, Jan. 12th from Miami, Florida, to Nassau, The Bahamas, and returns to Miami on Monday, Jan. 15th.
Planned events include a live concert by Neil and his band, a wet and wild shore excursion, The Hooters
Girls Girls Girls Bikini Contest, a Pure Platinum Miniature Golf Challenge, Vince

[18 September 2006] Z Rock 2006 organizers have sent out an official press release, stating that Firehouse have now confirmed that they won't be playing at the show. The schedules for the remaining 8 acts have been rescheduled and some sets have been extended. In addition, everyone attending this year's show will get a 10 % discount on next year's show, details of which will be announced on Sunday.
Nu-breed rockers Bad Way will make a one-off appearance at their own city Barcelona on
October 19th, to open for the recent winners of the Eurovision contest,
LORDI. The concert will be part of the EASTPAK ROCKZONE TOUR ’06 which is
bringing LORDI through all Spain. After that appearance, Bad Way will
continue preparing songs for the continuation of their debut cd “From Zero
to Hero”, which will be recorded at the beginning of next year.
Estonian metal festival / gig organizers Green Christmas 2006 brings one of the best known bands in gothic/doom metal scene - MOONSPELL - to Estonia. The concert takes place in Tartu at club Illusioon on the
25th of September. Moonspell is supported by the Estonian elite metal band LOITS and
the Finnish BEFORE THE DAWN and EMBRAZE.
Tickets are available at "Piletilevi" and the Statoil stations all around Estonia.
The ticket costs 345 kroons, at the gate the price is higher. Gates open at 6pm, the
first band starts at 7pm.
[15 September 2006] Thunder are going to release their new album titled "Robert Johnson’s
Tombstone" on Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) on November 8. The band says that "We feel a bit
like we're re-defining the sound and style of the band, and it happens a bit
more with each record we release", and go on to describe the album as "rootsy and blues based, sexy and dirty, and sad and melancholy in places too." UK shows are being scheduled for this year, and European fans are likely to see the band on tour in early 2007.

Domain are celebrating the band's 20th anniversary with a special edition of the new album
"Stardawn", which will be released at 7 November in the United States Of America and
Asia. The release date for Europe is 13 October. The first 4000 copies worldwide will contain and extra CD AND and extra DVD with tons of special features. There will be 35 minutes of live tracks, a 15 min. live-show from Korean TV, a 40-minute document with interviews, a diashow plus a 16-track "best of Domain" compilation featuring such classics as "Lost In The City" and "I Don't Wanna Die", remastered of course. The rare songs "Stormbringer" and "Over The Hills And Far
Away" are also included.

[12 September 2006] Italian AOR project My Land will have a track on the forthcoming "Munich's Hardest Hits Vol. 8" CD. The track in question is "Love In Chains" from the band's recent "The Time Is Over" album. "Munich's Hardest Hits Vol. 8" CD is being compiled by the rather excellent web radio station by the same name, and sold via the station's website.
Agnes, one of the contestants in last years Finnish "Idols" will release her album this month. The album will be 80's styled hard rock, with songs written by Mr. Lordi, Joey Tempest (Europe) and Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica). Musicians on the album include drummer Mikko Sirén (Apocalyptica), bassist Lauri Porra (Stratovarius), guitarist Tuomas Wäinölä (Kotipelto) and drummer Sami Ojala (Carmen Gray).
Europe have confirmed a gig in Helsinki, Finland. They'll be appearing at Tavastia club on 6 November, in support of their new album "Secret Society".
Wetton/Downes of Asia fame (and currently on tour with the reformed band) will release their new album "Rubicon" on Frontiers (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) on 8 November. The album will feature Steve Christey (Jadis) on drums and John Mitchell (Arena, Kino) on guitars and Hugh McDowell (ELO), along with the special appearance of Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering)
- who duets on "To Catch a Thief" and "Tears of Joy" – and violin 15-years
old prodigy Katie Jacoby.

Frontiers Records (Zink/Bonnier Amigo) is pleased to announce the release of
the ZION album on December 8th 2006. This album marks the comeback of FREDDY CURCI, the vocalist of ALIAS and SHERIFF. Sheriff released their first (and only) album in the early eighties and were popular in their home country of Canada, yet the success in the USA had to wait. The band split up in 1985, but amazingly their song "When I'm With You" came back to life and went to the top of the US singles charts in 1989! ALIAS was a continuation of Sheriff, featuring Curci, Sheriff guitarist Steve DeMarchi, ex-HEART
members Steve Fossen, Mike Derosier and Roger Fisher. Their only album was released in 1990. It's considered an AOR classic, and it featured two Top 10 hits. After the demise of Alias, Curci recorded a solo album "Dreamer's Road" in 1994 and a compilation album was also released a few years later.

release the STYX & the Contemporary Youth Orchestra album “One With
Everything” on the European markets on November 10th 2006.
Neil Zaza will release his Christmas themed "One Silent Night..." Volumes 1 & 2 for the first
time ever as a two-disc boxed set on October 10th. Originally only packaged separately, these two full-length CD's will now be available as a single set, just in time for holiday gift buying. Both discs will also include a bonus live track from "Neil Zaza's One Silent Night...", the holiday event that followed the CD's.
