ARCH ENEMY mastermind Michael Amott (guitars) comments on the artwork created by Niklas Sundin / Cabin Fever Media as follows: “This time around I turned to Niklas Sundin to bring the ‘RISE OF THE TYRANT’ imagery to life, and what a splendid job he did! I am always amazed by this man’s imagination and talent, and his seemingly never-ending patience in dealing with me! We worked closely on the project from the beginning and what we ended up with is something somewhat different to what we have done in the past: Less colours, quite clandestine and very sinister! Wonderful! The track ‘RISE OF THE TYRANT’ is musically the most extreme song we recorded and Angela’s lyrics fitted perfectly the mood of the music so we decided this had to be the name of the album. The cover reflects the atmosphere of total megalomania inspired by that song. The booklet artwork is really lending itself towards intense merchandise and stage production ideas, all of which will be revealed soon. But for now, stare into the all-seeing eye of the rising tyrant!”

HUMAN TEMPLE, the melodic hard rock band from Finland have been in the studio and recorded a six-track demo of fresh material. While in the studio, some of their sessions were captured on videotape, and a video for the song "What About My Broken Heart" was put together. It's now available at YouTube.

Italian gothic metallers MACBETH has set "Superangelic Hate Bringers" as the title of the forthcoming album.
S.H.B. was recorded in two different studios including a private studio in Reykjavik, Iceland and New Sins studios in Italy, where the band also mixed and mastered the cd. The fourth studio album will feature 10 brand new tracks and will be
released this autumn via Dragonheart records. The digipack version of S.H.B. should include the videoclip for the song “Without you”.
Canadian speed/thrash metal heroes EXCITER, whose classic "Heavy Metal
Maniac" album was defining speed metal even before Metallica's "Kill 'em All", have
signed with Massacre!
The line up is John Ricci (guitars), Rik Charron (drums), Clammy (bass) with new
singer Kenny Winter.
The band just started recording their new album "Thrash, Speed, Burn".

MY FATE, a Tampere-based Finnish metal group has finished their new EP "MMVI". It'll be independently released, and it'll be the first to feature new vocalist Jukka Ruostila. The EP will be unleashed via Internet, but a limited edition with a dikipak will be printed for promotional use. A small number of CDs will be sold via the band's website.

PINK CREAM 69 will release a DVD. Here's the press release:
After a storming performance in front of 20.000 enthused fans at this
year’s “Masters Of Rock” festival in the Czech Republic last weekend, German
melodic rock band PINK CREAM 69 has returned home to Karlsruhe. An
unbelievable concert in front of 40.000 people at the open air event “Das
Fest” followed. One of the highlights in the band’s career so far. Both
concerts have been recorded for a double-DVD with the tentative title “Past
& Present” to be released in 2008. The first DVD-effort in the band’s
20-year-long career.
The first DVD in the package – to be called “Present” - will contain the
highlights from both of the festivals and a full headlining concert to be
recorded in the next months. Also included will be interview- and
behind-the-scenes-footage. The second DVD - to be called “Past” – will
contain the rare out-of-print VHS-live-recording “Size It Up! - Live In
Japan 1992” now in digital quality documenting PINK CREAM 69’s first-ever
outstanding appearance in Tokyo/Japan in the band’s original line-up with
ex-singer Andi Deris (Helloween). Furthermore all the 8 promotional PINK
CREAM 69-videos from the past will be included along with more bonus
features.
TIMO TOLKKI announces the second vocalist for his upcoming rock opera “SAANA
– WARRIOR OF LIGHT”.
After choosing classically trained American coloratura soprano Jennifer
Sowle to sing the leading character in his Classic Rock Opera, Timo Tolkki
chose the second singer for his 3rd solo album. He is Heikki Pöyhiä from
the Finnish band TWILIGHTNING.
“I got to know Heikki when I mixed his band’s debut album and I really
loved his versatile vocals immediately”, says Tolkki. “I also saw him live
and he was just as good. He has a very powerful voice, but he can also sing
very softly when needed. His character, like all the characters on this
album, is very challenging for the singer, since they each portray a lot of
different human feelings”.
Tolkki continues: “This project will challenge the form and content of “rock
opera”! My aim has been to create something totally new and yet maintain the
best parts from traditional rock opera and opera. I did not want to just
compose 10 songs, come up with some quick story and invite 7 famous metal
singers and call that a “rock opera”. I have spent a lot of time choosing
the vocalists and that has been a very difficult job, because each and every
one of them is unique, although they are not big names. The whole concept is
quite unique. More about that later”.
Timo Tolkki is still searching for vocalists for both SAANA and for other
projects his production company Goldenworks is preparing. Anything from

Frankie Banali and his musical friends pay tribute to the legendary Led

forthcoming new album “The Cold Heart Of The Sun”. The drums were
recorded at the Danish Hansen Studios by the mighty Jacob Hansen
(Heaven Shall Burn, Neaera, Fear My Thoughts, Volbeat, etc), who also
did the mixing and mastering duties for the album while the other
instruments and vocals were nailed down at the Rape Of Harmonies
studio in Germany with Ralf Müller, Patrick W. Engel and Alexander
Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn).

The vision of lead vocalist/drummer and ex Angelic Upstart, Evo
Geordie, the 3-piece Warfare was borne out of the struggle and
conflict that was experienced living in the 1980s! Signing to Neat
Records in 1984, Evo, Falken (bass) and Gunner (guitar) proceeded to
channel their anger through their own brand of punk-metal, fuelled
by a lyrical content railing against the political inequities of the
day. Following several albums and single releases and with

crusade in 1990.
For album number two, Warfare leader Evo took the bold step of
approaching Motörhead leader Lemmy to act as producer on the

track. Recorded almost live over a 3-day period at Ezee Studios in
London, Metal Anarchy features the band at their most incendiary.

version of the 1960s protest song Eve Of Destruction.

German rockers JADED HEART are putting finishing touches to their brand new studio opus entitled Sinister Mind. The band welcomes on board for the first official recording session the new guitar player Peter Ostros. He contributed to the songwriting of the new record and brought a lot of fresh new ideas on the table.
Sinister Mind is being produced and mixed with the collaboration of some of the top names in the German scene: Michael Voss (Mad Max, Voices Of Rock), Chris Lausmann (ex-Bonfire, Voices Of Rock) and Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69).
The new album will be featuring more musical varieties than ever, so Jaded Heart will definitely win many more fans. Of course, Jaded Heart will be touring again the streets of Europe by bringing this new record to the fans by playing live again.

"A DISTANT RENDEZ-VOUS" is an artistic project by Canadian guitarist Martin
Marshall and Spanish keyboardist Fran Rodríguez who, despite not having met
in person yet, have started a musical collaboration thanks to the internet.
Martin's Myspace site has tons of visits from guitar-hero lovers all over
the world. He lives in Montreal (Québec, Canada) and speaks French. Fran has
been known for being the keyboard player of the melodic rock band Nexx and
for writing short films soundtracks. He lives in Pawtucket (Rhode Island,
USA) and speaks Spanish. Both of them got together thanks to Myspace and it
seems that they speak the same language of music.
Absolute artistic freedom, experimental creativity without restrictions and
no pressures of any kind. *A distant rendez-vous* is a relaxed project that
will produce musical pieces at its own pace. Just check out their website
once in a while to see if there's something new. In words of Martin: "Just
for the art of music, freedom and total liberty." That's the spirit of *A

News from the DOMAIN camp: Unfortunately, because of appointment- and contract-related differences, the

THE RITES OF SPRING FESTIVAL have added Swedish art rock band Black Bonzo and the YES-related CIRCA: to their 2008 line up. CIRCA: and is comprised of veteran YES rockers from
different eras: Billy Sherwood, Tony Kaye and Alan White with Jimmy Haun on
lead Guitar have completed their debut Album. Capturing various eras of
Progressive Classic Rock to create a dynamic new sound, CIRCA: 2007 is an
Album of original compositions that defines a new musical chapter for the
Band. ex-members Guitarist Billy Sherwood who performed on the TALK Tour
(1994), and played on Keys to Ascension Volume I and II (1996/97), Open Your
Eyes (1997), and The Ladder (1999), next is current YES drummer Alan White
who has been hitting the skins for YES since 1972, keyboard player Tony Kaye
was with YES when it formed in 1968 and he played on their first several
albums and then went on to a successful solo career. Kaye returned to band
in 1983 for the 90125 album - arguable the most successful compilation of
the band's career (and which yield the still-popular #1 hit "Owner of a
Lonely Heart") and stuck around for another 10 years and then departed
again, and finally the quartet is rounded out by Jimmy Haun - a name many
YES fans may not be familiar with but who in fact played guitar parts on the
1991 YES album "UNION." as a session player.
CIRCA: will be playing the entire new "CIRCA: 2007" CD, as well as touching
on special moments from every YES era !! 2 hours of non stop prog !!

LILLIAN AXE have signed a deal with Z Records to re-release their "Fields Of Yesterday" album. The album has been remastered and two new bonustracks have been added to it.
Mark Alger (Z Records) made the following comment: " Fields of Yesterday" is one
of my personal
favourites to have been released by the label. I was gutted to not be
able to go to Japan
with the band during 1999 due to having to stay in the UK for Z Rock
99. Good Old
Dave Tedder was lucky enough to make the trip and had everything
video taped for
me which to this day is a prize keep for me as it incl's Lillian Axes
full Tokyo show.
Its a pleasure to work with Steve and the guys again and I hope their
new studio release
does well!"
Steve Blaze (Lillian Axe) commented: "We are looking forward to the re-release of
Fields of Yesterday
marking the 10th anniversary of Z. This collection of rarities and B-
sides is a nice compliment to our new studio album "Waters Rising" on Metro City

[11 July 2007] VON GROOVE are set to return on September 24th with "All For Rock n
Roll"
a definitive best of collection which will also feature two brand new
tracks. The bands long awaited studio album "Live It Up" is now nearly finished and a
release is planned to coincide with a European live appearance during March /
April 08.

Century Media Records is proud to announce signing Waldemar Sorychta’s new band EYES OF EDEN. Sorychta was the musical mastermind of the first Century Media Band Despair who released their first album “History Of Hate” in 1988 with company founder Robert Kampf on vocals. Furthermore, Sorychta also was the mastermind behind some of Century Media’s most successful European bands, producing classic albums by Tiamat (“Wildhoney”), Moonspell (“Irreligious”, “Sin/Pecado”), Sentenced (“Frozen”, “Down”), The Gathering (“Mandylion”) or the biggest CM act ever, Lacuna Coil (from first EP “Lacuna Coil” to the latest album “Karmacode”). Not to forget Grip Inc., his Thrash Metal band that once featured Dave Lombardo of Slayer fame.
Shortly before Century Media’s 20th Anniversary in 2008 it feels like a circle is getting closed by releasing his new band’s album “Faith” that presents an exciting orchestral masterpiece of gothic rock/metal. MADISON PAIGE has been tapped to perform at the July 14th, 2007 installment of the enormously successful
outdoor summer concert series "Indie 103.1's Check 1...2...LIVE!"

Actually, we have to start rehearsing at some point this summer… We will be playing a couple of festivals in the U.K. (‘Bloodstock’) and Germany (‘Up From The Ground’). The touring plan for ARCH ENEMY will start full on after the summer, and we can confirm we will joining the European “Black Crusade” tour package with Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce and Shadows Fall – yeah, that’s a pretty impressive tour, huh? Equally exciting for us is the Australian “Black Crusade” tour which we will be doing with Trivium and Machine Head.
Lot’s of other cool touring ideas are flying around at the moment – looks like we also might be visiting places on this planet where ARCH ENEMY has not yet had the pleasure of playing……………. That’s what it’s all about!

and been sent out for mastering. "I-Day" is LNJ's third all-star CD and their

MAXIMES MELODIC ROCK NIGHT [OCTOBER 5]
BAD WAY has began to work on their sophomore album tentatively titled "Dead
Letters". The album, which will be produced by top spanish producer and songwriter
Gonzalo Parreño, will follow the modern hard rock sound of their critically
acclaimed debut ("From Zero to Hero") but with a much bigger sound and production.
The band will move to the city of Valencia to record this album at R.P.M studios at
middle september, and news about record company and territories to release this
album are about to come. Early 2008 release is expected.

"Shaking off the cobwebs of a 25 year slumber, BALANCE, the iconic legendary 80’s band who released such AOR masterpieces as “In For The Count” and the self titled debut, resurfaces with a vengeance. Grammy Award winning producer / guitarist Bob Kulick whose credits read like a who’s who of Hard Rock and Metal music (Kiss, Motorhead, Wasp, Alice Cooper etc) again joins forces with one of the greatest singers of the AOR genre, former Blues Magoos, Barnaby Bye, Wiggy Bits, vocalist/ musician Peppy Castro and the other Grammy Award winning keyboardist/vocalist Doug Katsaros who has made a major mark in every musical genre, from playing with Dee Snider and Paul Stanley to working with Elton John, Rod Stewart and even on Broadway musicals.

I can't wait for those fanatics to be satiated at last by our new cd”.
“We have a very healthy attitude” segues Castro, “The music breathes and we've been able to connect very well with each other. The great thing is that we are all such productive people. So there will be an abundance of material and we will edit our selves down to the best of the bunch and that will be the record”.
Recording of the yet untitled new album has commenced in Los Angeles and NY and the band are well into it now.
“Anyone who is or was ever a fan will not be dissappointed, in fact, there may finally be an international hit amongst the tunes on this new outing - we have all matured, and what's coming out is simply fantastic! Like the best of both of our earlier records. CRAZY LIXX enters Polar studio to record their debut album. Here's their message:
"Allright, we've arrived in Stockholm and we'll be entering Polar
Studios first thing in the morning to begin the recording of our
debut album and let me tell you it's gonna' be one hell of a piece
of wax (no, we won't be printing it in vinyl, but it sounded cool).
Out of almost thirty demos we've now picked out the twelve songs
that we'll be recording and we're all very happy with the material
and so is our producer for this project, Chris Laney, who visited us
in Malmö during the last week to hear us rehearse and tell us his
plans for the pruduction.
We're all very anxious to begin working on the album and we'll be
starting with recording the drums tomorrow. Finally we'll begin to
see the results of years of hard work. From the twelve tracks we'll
be recording, some ten will make it to the final album and we can
tell you that some of the songs that you fans voted for on the
homepage will be amongst the ones recorded."
Recorded live during Jorn’s first ever concert in the USA, at the ProgPower
VII Festival in Atlanta, where he performed as headliner of the day on
September 16th 2006. The incredible set saw Jorn offer a wide selection of
songs taken from his solo albums, collaborations and a mindblowing
Whitesnake medley, who made him one of the most successful acts ever in the
history of the festival.
“Live In America” is a permanent testament to Jorn’s capabilities as an
entertainer and to the incredible power and strength of his now legendary
shows. The album also includes three studio tracks: a brand new recording of
the title track of his third solo album “Out To Every Nation”, a Black
Sabbath medley “Lonely Is The Word/Letters From Earth” and the unreleased
“Sacrificial Feelings”
The line-up featured on the album includes Jorn Lande on vocals, Tore Moren

Epicus Records is happy to announce the release date for the debut solo album from THOMAS CHR. HANSEN. Thomas is the main man of Norwegian Power Metallers Gaia Epicus and the album will be released on the 12th of October 2007.
The album will have 11 songs and 8 of these songs are instrumental songs. All instruments are played by Thomas except a few small guest parts with trumpets, flute and female vocals. The music is set to be melodic Hard Rock / Metal with some
progressive elements.
PELLAVAROCK, a Finnish Metal Festival has completed its' line-up. Here's the press release:
When this press release is written, there are only 39 days to Pellavarock. The
members of Pellavarock’s organization have many things to think about, but
fortunately much is already done. Still there are many things that can be done only
in the last week before the festival. All bands are booked and published. 4th August
in 2007 Pre-Pellavarock is held in Lahti in a bar called Torvi. There you can see
bands: Kiana, Sinking and Hateform warming the audience for the approaching
Pellavarock. The tickets to Pre-Pellavarock you can pick up by the entrance of the
bar only in 5 euros.
Kiana consists of five metalman from Hyvinkää. Every members’ own musical
conceptions makes Kiana complete and their modern metal is born. The final line-up
Kiana got in July 2005, when the fifth member was found. Sinking, that metal music
playing band which comes from Turenki, came familiar when it won the competition at
Finnish Metal Expo over 148 other bands in 2005. Hateform comes from Turku. Its
music is honest and modern death metal. One of these three bands will be chosen to
play in next year’s Pellavarock.
Pellavarock’s After Party is in Lammi at Ravintola Hovi 11th August in 2007. There
will be playing Moottörin Jyrinä which comes from Helsinki. The band plays heavy
legends for example from Iron Maiden, Motörhead and Judas Priest with words suited
to children and childlike. The tickets are in sale in advance in Pellavarock’s
left-luggage and the price is 8 euros. The tickets costs 10 euros from the
restaurant door after 20 pm.
The Pellavarock itself will be held in Lammi 11th August in 2007 starting at 12 am
and ending at 8 pm. Ticket sales are already going by the Lippupalvelu and Tiketti.
Ykkös-grilli in Lammi is also a place where you can get your ticket. The price of
the tickets is in advance 22 euros and from the festival gate you can buy the ticket
at price of 26 euros, if there are any tickets left. In this year’s Pellavarock
plays domestic Amorphis, Tarot, Stam1na, Casket, Pain Confessor, Profane Omen,
Moonsorrow ja My Fate. Teemu Suominen will emcee the Pellavarock this year.
The festival place will be improved the whole summer, so the audience can enjoy more
and more every year. Volunteers will be a very big help again and we thank them all
